I saw that fight way back. Wolverine can't beat Batman. He's too dumb, predictable, easy to anger, and his strengths are obviously his weaknesses. Adamantium in the ocean doesn't work too well.
Now... eliminating unnatural enhancements changes EVERYTHING! In that sense, I would have to go with:
1. Karate Kid (trained all his life, best in the galaxy, and still young) 2. Batman (trained from the best since 7 years old) 3. Black Panther (trained his entire life in order to answer his destiny) 4. Shang Chi (trained since early childhood by the best teachers of Shaolin) 5. Lady Shiva (training unknown, but included the deadliest assassins in the world) 5. Iron Fist (trained through his teen years from the masters in Kun' Lun) 6. Bronze Tiger (trained on the level with Batman, but his emotions are his weakness) 7. Robin - Damian Wayne (trained by assassins, but still a little too young) 8. Captain America (training & experience spanned his extended lifetime) 9. Black Canary 10. Daredevil
That's a pretty good list. There are others of course. The new Batgirl Cassandra Cain who seems equal to Lady Shiva and many others but you've listed the most popular. I can hear Wolverine fans though screaming bloody murder as they are convinced he is the best in the world.
WHEW! I finally got your approval, Great Sensei!! I feel good. I know there is still much more that I can do, but I will continue to try to sharpen these lists up. My comic superhero testing has been pushed, but with you... I am sure to be a master!
Thought I would bring this back up to the top. I'm still waiting for Omen to re-read the new part 8. I just came up with a better and more plausible way for Batman to beat Deathstroke, so I changed the ending. So Omen what do you think of my new solution?
Sure is one heck of a long minute Omen. Sheesh! You have to practically take a cattle prod to some people to get them to read your story. Luckily for you that is as yet impossible through the internet. I say as yet because no doubt in the future people will figure out how to shock each other with electricity through their computers. I kinda wish we could do that now. I bet you people would be a lot more polite to each other if we could.
Okay-okay… sheesh, I’d do anything to dodge the shock treatment! I reread the entire story and once again it made my fanboy hairs jump with excitement as names of some of my favorite Legionnaires were thrown around so casually.
The writing style alone was something that took me back in time, because I could ACTUALLY visualize a story like this in a comic that I would purchase. Yes, the story had a 70s style, 80s content, but it also had a late 60s flair… I’m feeling a Mike Grell art moment, a Curt Swan intro, a George Perez Deathstroke, and a Steve Lightle fight scene! (Inside comment for us hardcore geeks)
Here’s the thing, this new path open some doors for discussion, which will ultimately lead to the single universal ‘first-person‘ truth stating, “…Because, I’m Batman!”
Once that comment is spoken, all things challenged MUST be accepted.
The fights against Lady Shiva and Bane were the easiest to accept. The battle with Deathstroke is the one that is up for debate. Batman is really a character made up of three components forged into one anti-hero: the person, his gadgets, and his environment. When utilizing all three of these components, Batman has been known to defeat Superman on multiple occasions. While he IS a master tactician, eliminating any one or two of these components and the character becomes severely… ‘less than’.
Batman in an arena fighting Death Stroke, who happens to be somewhat the equivalent to Captain America, with no gadgets or escape equals a good fight but ultimately a defeat delivered upon the caped crusader.
Deathstroke is superior in speed, strength, stamina, reaction time, and mental processing. His body heals after each blow and he has been trained in military tactics (Special Forces) as well as performed multiple operations and assassination missions of the highest caliber.
Tactically, Batman may be better, but it must be accepted that Deathstroke can process his failures faster and learn from them as quick, if not quicker, than the Bat.
With no gadgets or environment, the Bats is at a loss. Now, on to the Karate Kid brain chip thingy… There are two things I had to wrap my mind around on this, honor versus the desire to win. With Batman, I chose the latter. The Bats has often demonstrated a strong level of honor and in this formal challenge made by HIM, I initially disagreed with him cheating after making it a point that the fights would be ‘no weapons/gadgets’.
I then thought about it and concluded that the Dark Knight would more-than-likely justify his action (using the Karate Kid cheat) by saying that it was more important for him to win in order to appear stronger to the denizens of Gotham. The battles had very little to do with honor. In fact, the illusion of honor was merely a misdirection to his need to appear absolute amongst the criminal elements viewing him the angel of vengeance.
Well said. In an episode of Batman Beyond he faced the Joker who in Batman's time had captured Tim Drake. The Joker implanted an experimental chip in Tim that acted like a time bomb so that it activated 20 years later and while active transformed the now adult Tim into a carbon copy of the Joker who was now long dead.
So it occurred to me that a similar chip might solve my problem of how to have Batman defeat Deathstroke in one on one battle. Is it cheating? In a way but both Batman and Deathstroke know that he cannot win due to Deathstroke's enhancement and he had to win this fight or hang up the cape.
Psyhologically not only would the win have the desired effect of restoring Batman's crown among the underworld but is bound to take some of the air out of Deathstroke's sails as he has no idea that Batman was temporarily chipped and thus himself enhanced.
So with that much at stake I could see him doing this.
Anyway glad you enjoyed that. I may do some more Batman tales should I get inspired.

I hope you do get inspired again. I would love to see Superman and the Silver Surfer mixing it up without the bias of their publishers influencing the outcome because of a dollar. Imagine a truly serious brawl between Thor and a mature Shazam, ACTUALLY using Solomon's wisdom.
These are stories that fans have wanted to explore in which each of their powers and abilities are used at full potential.
Why should we hesitate to dig into Batman going at it with Black Panther, or even, Cap facing Deathstroke with no holds-barred?
Whenever these crossovers are down, the influences of the companies can be felt. Currently, the classic comic formula when two heroes meet is... 'meet, fight, realize we're on the same side, then team-up'.
ENOUGH OF THAT CRAP!
Let Deathstroke kill Cap's woman to get to him as a target on his contract.
Let Thor drop a building, taking out Billy Batson's 'family' while casting one of his Mjornir bolts. Let Shazam appear in Asgard, backed by Olympians, and threaten Thor to a battle while laying his very power on the line as Shazam.
Let Black Panther make an aggressive move to buy-out and/or eliminate the top tech companies in America, then drive Bruce Wayne penniless into the ground, expose him, then have him get life in prison (without parole) for all of the vigilante crap he's done and people he's killed (go back and check the Bat's history).
Let Batman escape prison, filled with rage, and an unyielding desire for true vengeance against the King of Wakanda. We just might see a cameo or quite possibly a team-up with Tony Stark as Stark Industries is also forced into the clutches of Wakanda as their shares are purchased, along with the firing and replacing of all of their staff.
Heck, let Silver Surfer steal Clark Kent's eyeglasses forcing him to go to work and everyone finally figure out that he looks like Superman.
Whatever it may be, these would be some cool tales to read!!
I'm getting ready to type my next tale. My stories are not pure DS as I bring in characters from many many other TV series and especially the old Universal Horror films. The one I just I am about to type for instance is a 3 way crossover between Dark Shadows. Highlander and the movie "The Son of Frankenstein". A bizarre combination but that is what makes it quite fun to write.
The previous one is a called "The Sons of Osiris" and is a crossover between Dark Shadows the 1931 film "The Mummy: and the later "Yhe Mummy's Hand" plus a little "Lair of the White Worm and even some H.P Lovecraft for good measure. Again quite a bizarre recipe but I think it blended quite smoothly.
Especially fun are my trick photos. Even if you don't have time to read my tales be sure and check those out. Here is the link again to all who are interested.
Omen: Get in line, I have been working like crazy also. I have two major projects I have to finish and hopefully everything slows down. Haven't had time to log into the board... I actually miss it. It feels good popping my head in to see what's going on.

g40t90yes: Good Morning. Now I am no political activist, but with is going on in today's activist world, I have a question. Last Sunday Vice President Pence walked out of a Colts Football game because the Players took a knee. I would like to read your View about this

g40t90yes: Continue. Now The NFL Owners (Jones-Cowboys, Ross-Dolphins) are going to demand their players stand for the Anthem. Again just thinking out loud. Couple of weeks ago Owners (Jones) knelt with players. Now you are pulling back. Why??
Oct 11, 2017 7:54:40 GMT -5
g40t90yes: One more thing. Some people view The NFL Draft and NBA Draft as a modern day or fashionable auction block for black young men. Thoughts!!! Please.

The Muse: Im sure there are going to be a lot of thoughts on this...why not start a thread on the topic under the "chat" board. It will be easier for everyone to read and comment on it there. This shoutbox is kinda cumbersome to have to scroll through to read stuff.

Nov 7, 2017 9:26:16 GMT -5
Omen: I don't know... some say time goes around in circles - for me, its just a dreary long squiggly line, in some places in its a smile, in others... its not.
