Somewhere a little further than yesterday, but close enough to be remembered... you were young and your world was made up of hymn. He was the touch and stern voice that reminded you of strength and compassion. He was your dad, your daddy, your pa, and your father.
Everyone has differences when it comes to hymn, but it is the similarities that we all hold special.
Reach back... Reach way back... Reach into your past and remember the songs that reminded you of hymn.
Are there certain songs that spark instant memories of your father? Do you remember the songs that define hymn?
I remember that song, 'Rock the Boat' by Hues Corporation that played in the background when my Daddy was driving during a trip to Tampa when I was a kid. We stayed in one of those camper thingies that sit on the back of a pickup truck, where if you turned too fast it felt like the entire truck would turn over.
We fished, crabbed, and stayed by the ocean somewhere (I was too young to know), but it was FUN!!!
When I look back, the image I see is made up of Kenny Rogers, James Garner and THE Man in Black-Johnny Cash. The songs "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers, "For You Are Beautiful" by Roger Whitaker, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by Charlie Daniels, "Forever In Blue Jeans" By Neil Diamond, "We Will Rock You" by Pink Floyyd. Anything and everything by Herb Alpert.
I remember he liked so many different styles of music... I have an early memory of riding around our small town in Michigan in his truck listening to "Convoy" by C.W. McCall, eating Necco Wafers that he treated me to at the old Phillips 66 general store....along with a Nehi soda.
The Muse leaves you in a zen cloud of well being, positive energy and creative fire. You find yourself succumbing to the overwhelming urge to write and create.......
Omen: Get in line, I have been working like crazy also. I have two major projects I have to finish and hopefully everything slows down. Haven't had time to log into the board... I actually miss it. It feels good popping my head in to see what's going on.

g40t90yes: Good Morning. Now I am no political activist, but with is going on in today's activist world, I have a question. Last Sunday Vice President Pence walked out of a Colts Football game because the Players took a knee. I would like to read your View about this

g40t90yes: Continue. Now The NFL Owners (Jones-Cowboys, Ross-Dolphins) are going to demand their players stand for the Anthem. Again just thinking out loud. Couple of weeks ago Owners (Jones) knelt with players. Now you are pulling back. Why??

g40t90yes: One more thing. Some people view The NFL Draft and NBA Draft as a modern day or fashionable auction block for black young men. Thoughts!!! Please.

The Muse: Im sure there are going to be a lot of thoughts on this...why not start a thread on the topic under the "chat" board. It will be easier for everyone to read and comment on it there. This shoutbox is kinda cumbersome to have to scroll through to read stuff.

The Muse: Where does the time go?
Nov 7, 2017 9:26:16 GMT -5
Omen: I don't know... some say time goes around in circles - for me, its just a dreary long squiggly line, in some places in its a smile, in others... its not.
