This is merely a first impression comment, so pleases stay tuned for later when I calm down!!
It's about TIME!!!
This Wonder Woman costume is pretty nice. SO WHAT, its a little dark, the essence of a warrior bleeds through this picture.
In trying to be fair, as an artist and character designer, I must offer a few criticisms... LOSE THE HEELS!!! They are STOOPID!!! My expectations were very low as to how they would present this character... the ICONIC character. I felt the actor was too skinny and flat out the WRONG choice, especially when I was thinking of warrior women.
When it comes to warrior women and total destruction, I am still having nightmares about Mother Russia from Kick@ss 2! She established the baseline to what an Amazon could be... uh, and quite possibly more.
Heck, let's be honest... that woman was a brute!
While this Wonder Woman has a flair of sexiness about her, the truth is, she's from an island of ALL women... sexiness means NOTHING! That like me worried about being sexy in the Army or Marines, before going into combat. It makes no sense. It's invited and we won't complain, but the main focus is that she is a WARRIOR!!
In fact, this is what made me stare at the boots and ask, "Are those battle-boots or stripper boots?" I struggled with the thought and tried to envision them crushing the head of a gorgon or sliding down a pole. The answer then appeared in my mind and I stood from chair and shouted out to the world, what I said earlier...
"LOSE THE HEELS!! They really are STOOPID!!"
I am now going stealth so that you can't see me...
l agree that though attractive the actress still looks too fragile , despite the armour and sword. But l'm used to that sort of casting. l wish the DC films did not feel the need to leech all color from their costumes.l basicly like the design save the too modern boots but at least a few accents of color would be nice.At least with Superman the cape was still red and the costume blue, however subdued.Batman has gone from his black rubber armour to the 'grey ghost'.l know they're in a quandary, trying to tone down the bright 'silly' color schemes of the original comics in the effort to 'ground' them. Most adaptations do it a bit but WB wants the films to be serious. For that everything must be dark and gritty. lt suits Batman but l don't think it works for all comicbook heroes/heroines.
Hey has anybody heard if this version of Wonder Woman is going to have the ability to fly?
As for the 'dreary' colored uniforms, 'yea, you're right. I think it has become the universal technique to making Superheroes appeal to older crowds and to be taken more serious. Once it was discovered (Tim Burton's Batman, anyone?) the technique has been repeated over-and-over as the Holy Grail to expanding the demographics of those willing to pay to go see the movies.
Once again Hollywood felt the irresistible urge to change the iconic costumes. In the comics Wonder Woman fought in WWII and thus the star spangled costume made just as much sense as Captain America's. Since she is immortal and never ages I see no reason to drop her WWII involvement and keep her classic star spangled costume.
Does no one but me find it ironic that Hollywood considers the spandex costumes of comics as "unrealistic" and yet in real life people are donning them and fighting crime.
I also see no sense whatsoever in trying to bring these characters to life on the big screen and yet make them unrecognizable. I did not like the helmetless Thor, nor the wingless "winghead", nor the Vegas silver stripes on Spider-Man, nor the all black rubber suit on Bat-frogman, nor the chain mail, red trunk less Superman, nor the costumeless X-Men and now we get a brownish Zena rip off for Wonder Woman. Why bother? Why not just make up your own characters if you divorce the screen character from all recognition as his comic counterpart? I knew the end was near when they had the gall to mess with Superman's costume. If that isn't a sacred cow what is? If they turned Superman into a murderer in MOS watch out for the upcoming Wonder Woman blood bath no doubt. Ok I am thru venting.
Omen: Get in line, I have been working like crazy also. I have two major projects I have to finish and hopefully everything slows down. Haven't had time to log into the board... I actually miss it. It feels good popping my head in to see what's going on.

g40t90yes: Good Morning. Now I am no political activist, but with is going on in today's activist world, I have a question. Last Sunday Vice President Pence walked out of a Colts Football game because the Players took a knee. I would like to read your View about this

g40t90yes: Continue. Now The NFL Owners (Jones-Cowboys, Ross-Dolphins) are going to demand their players stand for the Anthem. Again just thinking out loud. Couple of weeks ago Owners (Jones) knelt with players. Now you are pulling back. Why??

g40t90yes: One more thing. Some people view The NFL Draft and NBA Draft as a modern day or fashionable auction block for black young men. Thoughts!!! Please.

The Muse: Im sure there are going to be a lot of thoughts on this...why not start a thread on the topic under the "chat" board. It will be easier for everyone to read and comment on it there. This shoutbox is kinda cumbersome to have to scroll through to read stuff.

Nov 7, 2017 9:26:16 GMT -5
Omen: I don't know... some say time goes around in circles - for me, its just a dreary long squiggly line, in some places in its a smile, in others... its not.
